Hello again folks -- as we intend to get into wet line work in the new year - I'm checking into work closer to home than the PA stuff available - any ideas - leads - warnings - etc - about accounts, brokers, and general info that might start me off as an O.O. with a dump trailer - Bed-buggin I know, 7 years at landstar I know - dumping - not so much - any info would be appreciated -

My answer is BWAHAHA! N VA! Go over to the gravel pit and see who is running out of there. You'd better have everything paid for or you'll starve. go to Bruce Oakley and lease on or Payne in Fredericksburg, may need drivers.

Hey Passin Thru -- reckon I'm not surprised - rats - reckon that I'll be up in PA 5 days at a time - in 40 years I ain't figured a way to make a few good bucks without leaving home - is Oakley that nationwide bulk outfit ? that sounds like a real job - lazy driver here, lookin to do a little less -- Thanks

Oakley runs everywhere. They are an all lease with end dumps and bulk. They haul everything you could dream of. I hauled Molybdenum, ground up alternators, grrain, sand, coal, beer bottles, cement, chicken poop, contaminated soil from junk yards, cleaned soil, ground tires and rubber, baled cars, roofing granules and coal fire waste. Can't name them all. They won't let you pull a pneumatic til you've been there a year and dumps pay better than grain.

Thanks, Passin Thru -- yeah - that's kinda what I figured - also heard they require EOBR - but I heard they do pay honest waiting time - I'm just tired of leaving the homestead - already doin that hauling bed-bugs - the PA coal is about 900 a day on 400 miles - bring your own trailer -
You still at it? after all this time Thanks

NOPE! Was leased to Watkins Shepard. Made good money, 3500 miles a week, light loads of aluminum 85 percent of the time. Ran out of Balt to Sea. Heavy haul was 2 bars of Brass Wbnd out of the port to Sea. Usually weighed around 20K apiece. They treated me well and only laid me over 1 X in LA for 4 days.

Bought a farm. Hauled boats and trailers for awhile but got bored with it. Got plenty to do. Cuttin wood tomorrow. Gonna buy a second farm and go broke twice as fast and be twice as happy.

Oh, boy - so you went over to twice the work and half the pay - probably one of the toughest jobs out of truckin - yeah, I appreciate that - we've a few acres - a few chickens, goats and alpacas - all adoptions - here's where I have my fun - got 2 cords down, 3 to go - know a few farmers - never quite figured out how they make a buck - it's a way of life - if one makes a buck, that's just a bonus - good luck
