I have earned my cdl and currently have a job with a large trucking company. I'd really like to look for something that has either a dedicated or regional opportunity but I have a poor looking mvr due to very old traffic tickets that I let sit around and didn't clear until until a year ago. I also had past suspensions due to unpaid child support but have brought my license to current and was able to obtain my cdl since. Are there carriers that I could possibly be a candidate for even with a not so good looking mvr? My wife is due to have a baby in the next few months so I'd really like to start seeing what might be available for me. Is there anyway to make myself look better to a company despite this? I did not have a problem getting into a cdl program with a company but have already been turned down by a few smaller companies who have said to contact them again down the road when I have a clean cdl for 6+ months.
Don't know how old the tickets and suspension are. You can keep looking around properly be better off staying where your at till they clear up.Then you would have better options at a good job. With a clear mvr and just one employer.
My tickets are between 5-10 years old and my suspensions are 3+ years old, I'm assuming my mvr looks so bad is because I didn't do anything about them until just a year ago so they were never resolved until then.
Not sure what you mean by resolving them.If you've paid the fine by your court dates. You should be pretty good most companies that I know are only looking back 3years.
I resolved them by going to court and taking care of them but I did not do it until many years after. So even though the tickets are very old I did not go to court to answer to them and getting my suspensions lifted until last year
O I got you.yea that's not good.hey be thankful you got a job.like I said earlier you can just keep looking but just a year old it's going to be tough.but I don't know where your driving now but I would try to stick it out I'm surprised anyone would've hired you with it just being a year old.
I fit the requirements for a few companies, I just chose one that is requiring me to drive team for the first 6 months. My suspensions weren't within the last year and I don't have any accidents or tickets within the last couple years either so that's what made me able to consider more then one place for my schooling.
Ok well maybe some on here can help more just keep looking you'll find a good fit somewhere Where do you live
