Hi everyone! First thank you for these forums. I have been trying to decide if this life is right for me and these forums have truly helped. I guess now i should give some back ground info about myself. Well the only trucking experience i have so far is cross training on 9-16's while in the Army back in the early 90's. I was a 12F tracked vehicle combat engineer during the first gulf war. So that is about all the time i have spent with heavy equipment. After all of that I came back home to Michigan and got into construction and i have been doing that up until 3 years ago when i broke my leg pretty severely. I have spent the last 3 years rebuilding my life trying to find the right line of work one where i dont need to stand for more then 5-6 hours at a time. Now at 36 thats been a tuff road when all i know is construction. So here i am looking into this whole trucking industry and trying to decide if its the right fit for me. -Ungy

Welcome, if this was a different time like 5 years ago i would say man jump in you can get a job anywhere but now i'm not so sure. BUT. If you need a job and can go to school and get trained and get a job its a great way to see the country. It has it's good's and it's bad's of course. The two worst is being away from family and what it does to your health. Good luck and welcome I'm kind of new to the site but traveled with hubby for 18 years. Until i retired because of tinnitus.
