1.82 a mile???

    SHC sounds like you got it down pat.... Hats off to you ....What brand of truck you gettin 9mpgs with?? Motor..Tranny?
    You haul 45,000 down and back empty right?

    I hear ya on having another life beside driving a truck...

    No, I haul 4,500..... thats FOUR-THOUSAND FIVE-HUNDRED to Corpus Christi, and I come back em.pty. So I run empty BOTH ways you might as well say. i run a dry bulk tank, so loaded they weigh about 15,500lbs, empty is around 10,900

    As for the truck, it was a 99 FLD120 flat-top, 430hp S-60 with 3.90 rears and a 10spd. Since I run empty and set my cruise at 60mph the whole trip (very boring tho) I managed to keep between 8.5-9.0mpg

    I just bought a 387 this week tho, C13 470hp, 13spd and 3.36 rears, so hopefully it will get just a tad better. Even at .5mpg for the 2700 miles I'm saving about $125 a week
