I have no problem paying Blue Beacon to wash my truck - cost me $100 every time truck, trailer, engine, undercarriage - but agree on doing the the little things yourself, especially greasing a truck. I wipe dirt off the zerks with a rag before greasing so it doesn't get shot up into bearings. I have never once seen any mechanic in a company shop or any of those guys at a TA/Petro, Speedco, etc ever do that they just put the grease gun on it and shoot. Also don't care for air grease guns, only way to do it right is to hand pump a grease gun.

If he had bought it from Handarko he wouldn't be fixing stuff - Handarko's practically done a ground up restoration hasn't he? :-D

For the sake of sanity I finally broke down and purchased myself an APU. I sleep much better at night now not listen to the moans and groans of the big engine running. I have no idea how many times I would wake up middle of night thinking "what was that, did my engine just blow up" LOL. One thing is for sure, when it does break its all on us.
