Steer axel king pin replacement on 07 Volvo VNL 780
is it possible to change the kingpins out on a 2007 volvo 780 without replacing the entire steer axle?

Thanks for the reply! I have taken it to two shops local to me that I have trusted for years, and they are both saying that they can't see any way to replace these kingpins short of changing the axel. I haven't gone to a dealer yet. Really don't want to either.

find a front end shop around you somewhere,if the shop says they cant change them i would find another shop, take it to one of the larger tire shops too,ie.southern tire mart, wingfoot or example

also call a volvo dealer with your vin and ask for a price on the kingpins and also get the part number from them too

Friend of mine changed the kingpin on an '09 670. I watched a few minutes of it. He's the service guy for a 25 truck fleet of Volvos. He had to replace the entire spindle assembly because it wasn't a swapable part. Said he's had to change entire axles before on others. Guess it depends on how frozen everything is. Best of luck to you on it.
