I've got nothing against guys that get home on the weekend, if you can do it good for you. Myself, I often book longhauls to pick up friday and deliver Monday. Less traffic, more scales closed, etc... and as mentioned previously it is not uncommon for the brokers to relax the purse strings a little bit on friday.

This is the last time I am opening this thread.....either it stays friendly and on topic or I take more drastic measures.
Last warning folks.

Honestly, if two guys want to act like children and not professionals then they need to take it off the board. If that's what you want to see and read, there are plenty of other forums for that, but this one retains a standard, and will not falter from that standard.
Really? After deleting 20+ useless posts last night from this very thread, that were nothing but personal attacks and bickering, which degrades the forum content to the level of a day care center, then I guess you can call it that.
Because apparently we have to babysit to make sure that certain members on this forum act like adults here.
HOW SAD!!!

Well to make it as an o/o here is a trick I use. If my regular customers do not have anything and the load boards are in the pits like the last couple of weeks. I ride around and do some cold stops with companys that ship products. I usally lie to them and tell them I got a fleet of 10 or so trucks available for exclusive dock to dock usage and would be willing to allot 2 of my trucks for them to try out. I tell them to view my business card as a get out of jail free card. Tuck it away and call me when the product is stuck on the dock. It has helped me build my customer base. I traget smaller companies they are a little easier to talk to the logistics manager. Sure you will get some of the logistics people who insist on using brokers and I respect that, but sure beats sitting at home being mad at the load board watching loads disappear for a dollar or less a mile. Just a little tip I thought I would pass on. Good Luck o/o's.
