| The truck emissions test is no big deal. The Calif. Air Resources Board sets up a check-point at the Cima rd. rest area on I-15 periodically, if you drive for Apex you will probably get flagged in. I get hit about once every two years. They have a sensor unit mounted on a five foot wand, place it in your exhaust path and ask you to floor it for five or ten seconds. If you pass, they put a sticker on your windshield. |

| Thanks, the ARB just returned my call this morning, and thats pretty much what they told me. But, they said that we are not required to go have a test since we only own one truck. That they will eventually random test the truck at a scale. So, now the O/O boss at Apex seems a little upset that we looked into it and brought this to his attention. They were wanting all the O/O's to go pay for this test by the end of the month. The ARB also let me know that they are going to enforce an ordanance that there has to be a sticker on the motor from the manufacturer. I think the sticker has to do with emissions?? But she is sending me some info. on that. I guess if the sticker is no longer there, you can contact a authorized service center for the motor and have it replaced. Aparently some places are charging for this sticker, and some are not. They have to take the serial number and contact the manufacturer for a replacement. But I am told if that sticker is not there that means a citation. She did say that they sometimes fall off. Seems crazy to me, that sticker thing. Thanks for the information. We are still learning about the wonderfull world of being an o/o it will be 2 years next month since we bought the truck. |
