questions about used APUS and fridge unit.

The price seams decent the hours too,I'd wanna hear it run and make sure it's all there.
The fridge is possible to run when truck is off,just don't leave it for many days on end could drain batteries

 

It might be a good one. As for the powering a fridge with the truck off, you can power it on an inverter, and have your apu set on battery protect mode, so that it will run and recharge the trucks battery as the truck is off. I would want to make sure the apu actually runs before buying it.

 

My fridge will run about 3 to 4 days off of my batteries when my truck is parked during the summer time.

I have one of those deals that cuts power off to my bunk when my batteries start running low.

 

The best APU is one involving a much cheaper gas genset, a window AC unit, and a space heater. Build a box for the genset and with the rest of the goodies thrown in you will have a good set up brand new for under 2 grand...

 

I got less than 650 total dollars invested in my apu. and about a dozen hours total install/ locating parts time. It's a 2 cylinder tk engine (made by Perkins) I picked up for 300 at a junk yard. 75 bucks for a used radiator and ac pump out of a Honda civic, 100 for heater/evaporator fan assembly out of a conversion van( the one in the rear). another 150 or so for all the belts/hoses/lines/fittings and angle iron to build the box/brackets and tie it all in. works great, only complaint is no generator for direct power so have to use a power inverter. also never did get around to figureing out how to get the auto start/ shut off wired in.
