Used tractor...what would you do?

Upon purchase of a used tractor what items would you change, replace etc. before putting it into service. ???all fluids???hoses, belts????brakes????

What items would you add to the truck before putting it into service? cat-eyes????Deer whistles???back-up cameras????? Thanks

Also is there a place to buy used or aftermarket body parts.. Mainly looking for the side-skirt kits.. Thanks

Just becasue its "legal" doesn't mean it's safe! I know when I need to sleep and when I am safe to drive. Fight the HOS. Write your Congressman.

There is no such thing as a "BACK-HAUL" everything has a start and stop point, If it needs to be moved then it is a load, period. Insurance, tires, fuel,etc... aren't any cheaper heading towards your home than they are going away. BACKHAUL is BS.

I'd buy a used tractor from Ryder . It would probably be ready to go needing nothing changed .

Check all the fluids, if you don't know when the oil was changed last change it, check the air in all the tires, I wouldn't replace the belts unless they looked all cracked and old, might get some new ones and keep them in the toolbox though, get a spare altenator and put it with the spare belts, and carry a toolbox with atleast enough tools to change either. Most trucks come standard with at least 2 back-up cameras mounted just outside either door. I spent a week getting mine ready to go , but I had to find a couple of air leaks and put a headache rack on

Didn't you mean to say "DO NOT come standard"?

I have yet to see ANY on all the trucks I've ever looked at.
