my pops works for first fleet...Averitt owns them...first fleet gets all averitts old trailers....He didnt go to averitt because they dont want facial hair he has a beard...Averitt and first fleet both compare...get anywhere betweek 2700-3700 miles a week.... If you want the miles for sure go to first fleet there outta murfreesborro TN and they have a big terminal in portland TN home every weekend decent pay
I worked for Lear corp and averitt drivers i talked to say the same...miles are there pay is decent -
i currently work for averitt, the pay is decent, not great,i expected more miles.my best week was 3200,and my worst was 1480.have talked to drivers who have done worse.consider it is the slow time of year.equipment is average my first trk. had a lot of problems, after several break down i went off and got another trk. i think they give the new trks. to inexperienced drivers, and the older ones to exp. drivers, neither of mine were autos.,which is fine with me.the people are great, service center's are clean, they haven't lied to me and most importantly the money is in the bank every friday on time and it is right.i would reccomend them, but don't expect 3000 mile every week.good luck

no i haven't heard anything about that, but you never know that's not the kind of thing they would want their driver's to know.

I currently drive for averitt and have had good and bad experiences just like any other company i have ever worked for. hard to get pay for sitting at a dock all day. reason for this is the companies that have you sit have a contract stating that they do not have to pay. miles are not that good. average 2000 per week. once every blue moon will get 2400. i am offered .42 - .46 per mile by seven different companies. asked fleet manager for .35 per mile (currently .33) and fleet manager said, "when you've been hear long enough...anything else?" i have been paid mty miles for the same run three times on one check and be missing a load altogether on that same check. next week this will be paid but, missing another load. usually 20 - 75 miles. that adds up real quick. if you go to averitt, do like me. get a lawyer on retainer and record your travel info (load #, destination, start, etc. with mileage) in a separate journal. maintain all of this info and your original log books for each month in a safe deposit box at a bank (yeah it costs some money but you have to spend to earn). when you exhaust all means of contacting payroll and still not being paid properly, get with lawyer and sue. do not sue until you have lost at least 100,00 dollars. for every 100,000 you lose, you can potentially gain millions after winning in court for pain and suffering for being late with payments to creditors due to inaccurate pay from the company. pain and suffering from having a constant head ache from having to keep up with extra paperwork due to incompetant payroll employees. the list goes on and on.

Popngoof, holy cow! THAT doesn't sound like a good company, to say the least! Plus compelling drivers to not have facial hair sonds unconstitutional to me!

Is anyone supposed to believe this? Utterly RIDICULOUS!
