This might be more of an issue with the Droid smartphone, as it didn't happen with my HTC with Sprint.

When trying to make a call via my Blue Parrot, I always get a visual prompt that I must acknowledge by pressing a selection on the screen. The procedure in the past has just been, push the multi-function button on the Blue Parrot, the automated voice responds "Speak Now". I say "Call (name), mobile" or home. It then repeats the command, and executes it. Now with the Droid, a visual prompt appears on the screen, with several selections possible. I must press one of them, or it just reads through them. Sort of weird, but very, very frustrating and annoying for this to happen while driving down the road. My phone is within reach, but not that close. I have it in a Wilson Sleek cradle, windshield mount.

At first when I tried calling it would produce a prompt providing 2 choices, Google Search, and Voice Commands. Under that were 2 options, Always or One Time. It took a few times to figure out I needed to select Voice Commands and Always to get rid of that prompt and now I can also answer calls without having to first unlock the phone.

Having to change carriers and phones jogged my recollection of how these smartphones will import contact email addresses and is not able to determine which to use when your wanting to make an automated call using a bluetooth. At one time while trying to call my wife, it had up to 7 possibilities for her. How that happened I have no idea, as she only uses one email address, and I have her cellphone listed as her name, our home phone is just named home. I do have her work numbers listed on her contact, under her name, so I guess it's looking at those and providing them each as different options in the prompt.

I looked through the menus and so far haven't located where I can stop this prompt so it just executes the command, ie; Call wife, or call home, or whomever. More trial and error is ahead again, before I can get this smoothed out. Hopefully this happens before I test the flying ability of the phone..:biggrin_25523:

i wouldn't worry about testing the flying ability of the phone. i did it with my bionic for 18 months. there's a reason motorola is dead last in sales.

have you looked at androidcentral.com? there's bound to be an android nerd that can help you out. my first android phone was also htc with sprint. 4 years ago. been hanging out at androidcentral.com since.
