Went down to Salt Lake this afternoon and spoke with one of their recuriters. Didn't sign anything, didn't agree to anything. If I decide to do it, all I have to do is show up on Monday, 1/29. Their school costs $3K. You pay it back at $100/mo and the company poneys up $150/mo. No interest and it's paid off in 12 months. There's worse deals. All in all, so far I'm favorably impressed with their operation. Time will tell but they seem to make the effort to retain people that they have trained at considerable expense. They don't make extravagant promises, just that you can make good money if you can do the job.

I want to get back into driving and would like to find out about Central Refrigerated and the school and training they have. I am to start school on 3/26/07. I really am encouraged by the info I have been able to gather about Central. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ! everyone I'm new to this site and was needing some info on Central Ref., I will be going to there training school in Dallas the 28th of this month, and I wanted to see if there is anyone out there that can give me some insight on this school in Dallas and how they house there students, so far I have heard nothing but good things about this company and I'm really looking forward to being out there on the road.

Welcome to the site. I believe if you do a search, there is plenty of information about Central Ref. on this site. Glad you joined us.

I'm new here too and all i have to say is they will teach you how to get a license and it is up to a trainer to teach you how to drive. Also don't lease with them unless you plan on teaming, solos will never make it.

I've been here since monday and so far it is great. But, make sure that you don't have anything on your record. They are very strict when it comes to that. THe leasing program is a joke. Basically, it's your truck but you still can't really do anything special with it as far as I can tell. I may be wrong, Lonesomedove correct me if needed. Basically, when you're done leasing the truck (48 mos) you still don't own it unless you want to buy it for its price at the time. Training is pretty good so far. I am at the Salt Lake school.

You will never buy the truck, ask anyone who has tried to buy it, they screw you over when the lease is up. Atleast anyone who i know that tried to buy it got screwed out of it. Also they make you drive 65mph even if you lease its governed, crock of crap if you ask me.

All I can tell you is this, if you hire on with CRS, that'll probably be 1 of the biggest if not the biggest mistake you'll ever make in your trucking life. They are not located down the street from CR England for nothing.skullitor Thanks this.
