CDL Training permit question.

Just curious if anyone here knows for certain. If I were to get the permit in my home state just before going to Utah for school, would Central accept that, or would I still have to take it (over)?

My primary reason for asking is, of course, money. I can take it for free in GA ( Being a Vet does have some advantages). I would love to save that 60 bucks for food and such.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

From everything I have read, you still got to take it in Utah, no matter what. I could be wrong, but most the people on here have said the same thing.

Depends on where your CDL test will be. The permit is obviously valid in any state, but you have to have a UT permit to take a UT CDL test.

Schneider has you get your permit in your home state, go to training, then they send you to your home state to test. No extra paperwork.

If you do get your UT permit and UT license, you'll have to get it converted to GA if you're going to continue to live in GA. You usually have 90 days or something like that.
