Well it means different things to different people, lol alot of drivers like me just got a Fat Check thanks to the stock purchase plan, but More importantly it means that the company isn't beholding to the Investors,

If you read through some of these companies, the ones that are private like Schnider the drivers like better because the company spends more money on its employees, while public companies treat their drivers like indentured Servants in a metal box..

I like US Xpress particularly because of the Creature comforts, and in 2 years I have only had 1 problem with my hometime

Thought slavery was abolished

My experience with my husband with US Xpress has been quite devastating. My husband has been there four months Through this duration as a lease owner operator, we have not made enough money to consider this actual income with this program & charge backs, Haven't seen my husband for that time. We can only keep hoping things get better & he sits alot between loads, hoping to get another load to make up for his sitting time, but that money is always kept for the previous week because of sitting. Average length of load per week are about 1600 to 1800 miles if he is lucky. Our first hope from US Xpress enterprises were enlightening. I've come to the conclusion, that US Xpress plantation service, hires people on to be slaves for their company. I feel that slavery is still in existence in the trucking industry, but Abraham Lincoln is not here to save us.

I'm sorry to hear that, I have posted their Complete Lease here on this website its a Scam.... i wouldn't touch it i Tried to talk a friend of mine out of doing it but he was hard headed and did the lease for 4 months and only made 1 postive pay check and it was only $3.00

The equipment is used normally 300K or more miles and he had to go into the shop the day after he got the truck and it kept breaking down on him...

All of these lease programs are to Make the company Money and Enslave the Driver... As a company driver i dont have many complaints though..

Cardinal Rule#1: Never lease or finance a truck from the same place you get your freight.
Cardinal Rule#2: Never lease on to a company that has company drivers as well as owner operators.

You are not gonna make it on miles like that. The sooner you get out of this lease the better (have they done anything that would allow you to get out of the lease -promised miles, etc)

I would put pressure on them to get you more miles or tell them you are going to Swift/Schneider/Prime (any big name competitor will do and lieing is ok).

Get on a dedicated account or something.

US Xpress

I hope he signed the 6 month lease...

My experience with US 4 years ago was happy running 48 states, when I switched to western regional, thats when it went down hill... If I ever decide to run 48 again, I probably would go back to US Xpress.

WOW! I never, ever thought that US Xpress would go private! Very interesting indeed! Maybe it has something to do with not wanting to be open to HAVING to report funds and stats? Hmmmmmmm. Interesting! Perhaps has something to do with the Mexican issues? Now, this is provocative.
