| Not sure how they are now, but it used to be if they caught you with an inverter in the truck, they would either take it out and give it back to you, or they would make you take it out. They had a problem with trucks burning down cause drivers were hard wiring them wrong, so they cut them out entirely. That might have changed by now though, its been 5 or so yrs since I was there.

| The cheap, low-watt inverters that plug into the 12v outlets are allowed, as far as I've been told. Anything above 400 watts or so requires approval, which pretty much means "I need this to live". (One guy I know has sleep apnea and needs a special device so he doesn't die in his sleep, and got a higher-powered inverter for it) That said, you can go to a terminal and see people with big inverters just cabled onto the batteries, so I don't know how hard they enforce it. |

When I drove team for them, my co-driver had a little plug in job for his computer, but anytime we put the truck in the shop(which was every week, no lie) he had to hide it. If you have one, it cant go in the shop with it unless its hidden, they will take it off the truck. In the 13 months I was there, 7 trucks burned down, and I saw 2 of them. All because of the drivers having butchered wiring jobs. And 1 or 2 were caused by the little plug in ones.

| I was told small invertors (abt 300 watts) are OK nothing hard wired. The shop will cut any hard wired invertors. Some drivers will hide their invertors, some don't. If you need it for medical reasons you'd need a doctors note and the shop will install a heavy duty alternator then hook up your invertor. |

| As said above, they will remove any hardwired inverters they find. As I found out, they will remove any hardwired device they find. I installed a hardwired FM modulator in my truck and they removed it. I used to install car stereos and alarms professionally so I know a few tricks for hiding this stuff. Putting the FM mod back took minutes. I have an inverter connected to the battery, it is fused 4 inches from the battery and is perfectly safe. It is also extremely easy to remove, it takes about 2 minutes to remove it. When my truck goes in the shop I remove the inverter and put it my laptop bag, my laptop goes with me. |

| Inverter that plug A-OK Yah , I Drove for "SWIFT" until a week or so ago , and used only lighter plug type inverters , OL' Swift doesn't seem to have a problem with those . Just don't let their "VILLAGE IDIOT" Machanics find a "HOT WIRED ONE"! They'll put an "INFRACTION" on YA , just like here on the Forum!! "RED"
