Orientation is company policies and procedures, quailcom stuff, trip planning review, etc... Probably paperwork, drug test, and fitness test too for someone new to the company.

Reluctantly I'm at the CDF. But not for long... had a preset to FL when I got back to the truck. I have a bad feeling I may be stuck in the SEDLOD now.
Lucky me while I'm here, first I get a 99 at the Kroger DC and then my 01 is at the Americold, and I'm at the CDF. 3 of my favorite places within 12 hours. -
Im stuck on hometime... for me 4 days seems too much...lol

Hey folks, I have been reading this forum for a while, just havent posted. I start orientation for Central on Monday and I have some questions. Do the trucks have APU's? Do they run paperless logs or regular log books?
-
Hey Phildo!,can you let us know what your orientation consisted of? and how long did they have you wait on a truck? how fast did you get on the road. I start on the 14.

No apu's unless you lease, 100 percent paperless. Orientation doesn't come untill you've passed school.. It consist of log class, getting comdata/tch card and getting your trainer. Avg wait time on a truck is usually 1 day to 1 week.. If you'll recover a truck.. You can bet your butt your leave the day you upgrade.. Plenty of abandoned trucks to get.
Well gotta del. to chicago state tom am and pick up at same said state and run it out to this mystical place I belive they call the "wild wild west." On my way, ill stop at iowa 80.. Stock up on super trucker drinks, chrome and of course, super trucker 101 cb lingo volume 4!! Lol, not to mention have my baby washed, waxed, steamed and polished. Seen a pretty hefty paycheck this week.. Time to blow my 28 dollars on chrome!! -
I will let you know how it goes. I did not have to go to school, I have some pretty decent OTR experience, just never payed any attention to the Central trucks. I am not sure about the lease program, they say that they have trucks in SLC right now if I decide to lease. I guess I will make that decision when I get there. I was an independant O/O running on my own authority for about 3 years, so I know what it takes to run a trucking company, just not so sure that I want to go down that road again. They are telling me either way that orientation starts Monday, and I will be on the road Wed or Thur morning. -
no wonder you are broke! LOL
