Photo of my travel trailer battery box with parts list.

    All hard ware is 1/4"
    1. Battery box same size of the battery
    2. 2 bolts 1/4" X 2" with 4 nuts and 4- lock washers, plus 4 flat washers make sure the flat washer are next to the box when you put it together, 2 wing nuts
    3. Battery cables 12"to 14" so you can open the box without removing the cables.

Drill the 1/4" hole inside the box lid, bolt, cable flat washer through hole , flat washer, lock washer, nut, wing nut .

connect the cables to battery lock washer and nut.

USE A RV BATTERY DEEP CYCLE

I should say that I have a second battery same as the first, that is not in a box to use in the 5th wheel trailers.

    Why?

It looks to me like this setup would be okay for most of the 5th wheels.

I looked at the pictures and think I might add the connectors to the lid next time home.

I know it wouldn't work in my 5ver. Not enough room. I can barely get a standard deep cell in/out of it.

I bought a box today very similar. I think it was $8.92 at Wal-mart.

Guess I might not do the alteration then. But, I do not pull many 5th wheels.

Some 5th wheels don't have a lot of room to use the box but some do. but it's always good to have a back up batt.
