    Tarpstop in Gary has a few different clevis hooks, and they also carry the LARGE hooks the wreckers use to hook the winch to a frame/axle or whatever... just some FYI

    Just use straps or regular chain and hook it back on itself. Why make the DOT ask any questions.

    Ask what questions? You don't think "DOT" knows that there are hooks in various sizes and configurations available in the appropriate grades?
