Name and state only, NO phone numbers or addresses!
Like 5mouths said, this is not a bashing thread. We already know brokers suck for the most part. This thread is to help folks avoid bad brokers.
Name, state they are out of, and a description of what happened to earn them the bad broker list is all thats needed.

For a few months I have been reading this forum and every day you read about bad brokers screwing drivers over. This has been posted at the Top of the page for three days now and only a couple of brokers have been listed. If we want to change the way things are done, we have to get the word out about these bad apples. Then everyone has to make the decision to quit hauling for these people.
So for, I have been lucky, my brother has a contract and we haul directly for a shipper. But you never know when that could change. If I have to start using brokers I want to know who not to use. It is highly unlikely that the gooberment is going to step in and regulate them and I'm not sure if we want more regulation.I do think we should have full disclosure and would think that if everyone demanded it that we could force the brokers to disclose the full rate. I guess that would be the good thing about hauling for percentage, then you could force them to show you the rate....
LETS GET RID OF THE BAD APPLES,!!!!!!!!!!!

Former Intransit was one of the brokers that would take 50% + off of the freight rate and then post it as the best they could do.
They got such a bad rep that they changed their name and I cannot remember the new one. Any one able to help me out?

It could be. I left the independent scene and went the lease route before they changed their name. I saw it later but don't remember the name now.
If their claim is to "specialize in back haul freight" then yes that would be them. The only reason they are back haul freight is because they take perfectly good front haul freight and cut the price to nearly nothing before posting it on the boards.
