First major impasse with the trainer tonight. He tells me I can't plug my computer into the inverter outlets because it will waste energy. That I should charge my computer during the day while the truck is running. These trucks have a separate battery bank just for the inverter. It is capable of running the air conditioning for 8-10 hours so I think I should be able to handle my laptop for a couple of hours. Seems to handle his TV for a couple of hours at night. He is also obsessed with the dome lights, ya they waste energy also, so I use my flash light inside the cab at night trying to find my things. His reasoning has also lead him to the conclusion that the Jake brake wastes fuel, you are better off riding the brakes on long down hills.
Enough of a rant for now. Heading up to the truck stop to get me some free energy.

Oh ya and if you were wondering if he runs the A/C at night, oh heck no. It's sweltering at night and I can't sleep. I said something about it yesterday so he did me a favor and ran the ac for nearly an hour before we went to sleep last night. I think this is just the sleep deprivation training portion of the over the road flogging program.
All of this foolishness comes from the companies incentive program for good MPG. And a lack of what really contributes to good MPG.
Wait until they have turbos going out because guys want to shut down the minute they stop to save the pint of fuel it would take to cool them down idling 5 minutes.
And just when I said I was done ranting at went ahead burst out again, sorry.

Should be cut loose in two weeks. I'll get one run through the house during that time so at least I'll get a night or two out of the truck.

Slept great last night as the temps dropped into the low 50's. That is until about 4:00 am when dude kicked the heat on. I felt like saying "hey cut that thing off you're wasting energy". I put up with it for about an hour and now I'm up at the truck stop using "free Energy" doing my laundry and watching cartoons.

Good talk with the trainer this morning. All issues worked. Communication is the key. We are just like peas and carrots now. Glad to find out he is receptive to my ideas.
