Where you at? Where you headed?

I'm trying to do a recovery of an abandoned truck at a KW place in Lakeland, Fl. We made our drop at 0800 in Riviera Beach and the rest of the day has been a complete waste.

We're not awesome enough to rate our own sub-forum, so we'll use this one.

I'm heading to Lakeland tomorrow to deliver to the Colorado Beef at noon as part of a long run that started at Schulyer NE. I'm staying at the Flying J in Dade City. Then I book on out of here(assuming I accept the load) towards Amarillo TX, but my 70 hour clock is going to make that run a b***h.

Why anybody would abandon a truck is beyond me.

TA has to recover trucks all the time. With all these new drivers, finding out that the lease doesn't work for them, they just abadon the trucks, not realising that they are screwing themselves. If they have no clue as to how to run a business, and they have no clue as to what the trucking life is like......... its a disaster in the making. I myself, got to do a recovery in Florida. Think that was the best paycheck I ever had. lol

Our recovery got scrapped so we picked up some Coke in Auburndale, Fl and are headed to Cheyenne, WY in the morning via Rockwall for a T call.

I've heard people are quitting because of the e-logs and just abandoning the trucks.

It is about as dumb of a decision as you can make. I will tell you though I don't know how the lease guys at Trans Am make it. Their pay is .16 per mile less than the lease i am in at ACT and there are some guys that can't make it work here.

My coach makes about 65k a year as a L/O and loves it. He did it right out of school and his worst check was his first one, about 380.
