West Coast drop-yards around San Francisco Bay area?
I would very much like Prime to be the company I train/drive for. (reefer) The dilemma I have is "safely" parking the truck on hometime.
I got some great suggestions on a different thread, but those were not company specific to Prime.
The safe possibilities in the San Jose area are near zero. (If there are any drivers home-based in Silicon Valley, please advise.)
Are there any PRIME DROP-YARDS along I-5/99 between Merced and Sacramento or HWY 101 between Salinas and Petaluma?
Are drop-yards secure 24/7 as I would need to leave my personal vehicle there during the time I am OTR?
Thanks for your help and for your dedication to your profession.
Good Days to all.

The drop yard in Lodi is secure, however it is rented space for Prime equipment and a dozen other companys. I don't imagine you would be allowed to keep your personal vehicle there. I did not see a single non commercial vehicle inside the gate. It's a private business that provides trailer and truck repair while renting its yard space to companies like Prime, KLLM, and Central. I do think they would allow you to park your Prime truck for a couple days while on hometime as it is Prime equipment.
Only Prime facility in CA is Prime Floral in Oxnard. Everything else is shared rental or customer based operational trailer use.
The rented yard in Lodi is new. In 4 years of hometime visits to my parents I have only previously dropped or picked up trailers at a customer Bakery in Lodi, a dry goods customer near Tracey, and FedEx in Oakland.

I think I will check with someone at Prime to find out if the yard owners allow personal vehicles, worst case for a fee? If that doesn't work maybe there is vehicle storage nearby...that will charge a fee.
With gas prices heading where they are, paying that parking fee might be cheaper than having someone having to me pick-up and drop me off. That round-trip at today's gas prices....about $60.
