    prime lease operator teaming

I am currently in tnt about to team with a lease operator when I'm done. Very curious what you guys think the pros and cons of this situation could be and what do you think would be fair as far as payment. We get a long great btw been with him since psi til now. Just want some advice I guess. I'm very new to this experience.

No less than you would make teaming on the company side, which I think is 12cpm for all miles. Might be 14 now after the up in pay for company drivers. Discuss it with him and get the deal in writing to protect yourself.

Bitter about what? Do you not have nothing better to do? Poor guy.

To the OP You should just go company, im sure your TRAINER told you that teaming with him his the only way you will make money because the winter is coming and no freight moves during JAN,FEB,and MAR.

He wants you to team with him because he wants to help you. Its the same sales pitch all these trainers at prime use.
He'll get you through the winter right up until april so you can run solo april, may and june and pick up a student in july.
Its just a ploy for cheap labor.

Your trainer also needs to run teams so he can run some of those high value loads and west coast to east coast miles.

Now read all the post on this forum from the PRIME Cheerleaders they claim they run 2500-3000 weekly on the company side.
    at .39pm x 2500 average miles a week is 975.00
now lets say as a team you run double that a week 5000 x what ORD said was fair for you to be paid .12pm 600.00 a week

So why would you run teams when you can make more as a solo driver. If anything running team you should be earning more. even at .20pm you would only be making 25.00 dollars more than running solo.

Plus you're not paying back the tuition while you're teaming with your trainer, your not even considered a prime employee.
You would not become an employee until you go company or lease.
Don't let these guys fool you. Do what you came to PRIME to do for yourself and family.

Company Side 3000 miles .39 per mile $1,170.00

Teaming with L/O 6000 miles .12 per mile $720.00 (going by what ORD said was fair)
plus will he pay you when/if his truck breaks down? When he goes home are you gonna be paid?

12 cpm is what you make during training not when you have finished training. No clue what the current rate is but I would guess the drivers would split in excess of 40 cpm for all miles driven by the truck. So what would be fair is 1/2 of the current rate for company teams.

However much it is... I dont team, wont ever team again. OP needs to get his rate figured out BEFORE he starts this.

Basically we are talking about 35 % of net total for the week. After truck and gas then 35 % of what's left to me. Also Sheila said I'm still company I get paid maximum .15 cpm. So for that to work we figured take my total I make for the week add it to his net after his truck and gas then 35% so I would receive .15 cpm plus whatever is left over equalling 35% of net gross to the truck. Also like I said before they said I will still be considered company so I retain all the benefits and they will still take out that 25 dollar a week lol. That is what we have discussed so far and yes I will get it in writing if that time comes.
