NO! The only way to have any liquor on a DOT vehicle is if it is in the sealed trailer with a BOL.It is illegal even if it is out of your reach in a luggage compartment.

That is legal unless a cop ask you to blow a breath test the DOT limit is 0 on the meter. You could gargle with Listerene and bust a breathalizer on the DOT limit.

Trust me, there are several threads about drinking beer in the truck. Again, why would anyone even take the risk? I like a beer or two just like the next guy, but for pete sakes, wait until you're on hometime to have a beer. It's not worth the risk losing your job...well maybe it is to some people.

The company you are going to work for, other drivers will snitch on you if you fart !!

Just imagine if you bought a beer and somebody saw you !!

Besides, it's best to get a room for activities that you want kept private !!

I read your post from the link you gave and it should be cleared up on CDL holder and alcohol limits. Just because you have a CDL does not limit you to .04 all the time. The .04 is only when you operate a CMV. This has been discussed many other times and from other states and every state listed always gives the difinition as "while operating a CMV.."

If you can show a link you would be the first and I feel it needs to be know. However, any amount of alcohol in your system can get you charged with driving impared if you show you are having any problems or showing signs that you might be drunk. I very rarely drink and when I do driving any vehicle is not in my picture no matter what it is.

    BAC Standards:

    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration-licensing/cdl/cdl.htm

Some States do establish that .04 is illegal BAC for a CDL holder regardless of the vehicle.
My State, South Carolina, does. I should not have listed that all States will utilize this same practice.

This is an interesting link though. Lots of good information.
