What Happens After Your 1st 3 Months?

I just did 3 months with CRST And now I'm on home time but I will not be returning with them. I have a Interview with May Trucking Co.
and JB Hunt. "I know I know" to of the worst companies thats what I have gathered since reading the different forums about both companies. But I only have 3 month experience so I feel like I have to take what I can take. And CRST is out of the question never again. I mean dog crap! Team sucks unless its your wife or hubby and even then I could'nt deal. Hell I'm not even married hahahhaha So I have a so called Interview with May Trucking and the following week with JB Hunt.
What should I expect? Which company is the worse of two evils?

I'm azzed out because of only 3 months experience? Is there any other
companie's out there that are better for newbie drivers? Please Help. Thanks as always guys.

I don't think I have met a satisfied CRST driver yet... lol.

Anyway, look around but be warned: With less than 6 months experience most of the bigger companies will try to hook you like SNI does with more schooling. Which of course means that you'll owe 2 companies a boat-load of cash at the end! Your best bet for the next 9 months will be to try and get lucky with an O/O, or a locally based company that isn't so strict on experience... Usually that means a small UPS style company driving a day or night route.

The major downside to the local jobs is that if a company is looking for experience it can be for either driving experience, or OTR experience. If they say they want a year OTR, then you'll be locked out...

Good luck.

I paid for my schooling before I went to CRST So I don't owe anyone any money and I'm not under contract so thats one good thing. unfortunately
Fed x and UPS will only hire you if you have at least 1 yr of experience so I guess right now I'm out of luck . Thanks anyways for your advice

Red face

After hearing about how May Trucking takes money out of your check for idling. I'm leaning more towards JB Hunt. I figure either way I'm screwed so why not go with the company that pays you more for screwing you hahahhaha

Siba,

Speak with CFI, Roehl and Crete. You might find them a better alternative.

I agree with the above....I have heard very little bad about those three companies, and all should give you a chance even with only 3 months under your belt.

Best of Luck

Roehl: Extremely strict on the requirments, but if you can get in... You're set. I have not heard anything about these guys that is unbearable.

CFI: These guys run a solid outfit, but be prepared for a lot of driver-asisted unloading, or even unloading it yourself... Or you could write a lot of comchecks for lumpers. They are refrigerated, which means a lot of grocery warehouses. I hate grocery warehouses, lots of hurry up and wait. Then they charge to unload their own stuff, it's all retarded.

Crete: They have their winners in the company for sure lol. I haven't heard anything horrible about them though, so they'd be a decent option.

As far as a UPS style company, what I meant was a place like what I have by my house. Spee-Dee Delivery, I worked in their terminal as a package handler before coming to SNI, great company, low CDL requirements. They are just like UPS, Fed-X and the like, but Upper-Mid-West only. I am sure you have a similar company in your area.
