Thanks for the replies,

I will definitely consider what you said MGASSEL. I don't think that it will come to that but I will if I have to.

Don't get me wrong, I still think the school is great as it has been around for forty years and has a great reputation but I feel that it is on a downfall. Mostly because of the field instructors, some are fantastic and you can tell that they enjoy what they are doing. My instructor walked off the job, being new they did not pay him very much to begin with and he had a dispute over his paycheck so he just burned his pick-up tires right in the parking lot.

A lot of instructors have a lackidasical attitude and seem to think that the students are working for them. On a sunny day you will see the instructors lined up polishing their Harley's while students are struggling with maneuvers. You will not see them on the field in the pouring rain.

Every one is family two, brothers, cousins, sisters, friends. Or someone is s•ck*ng someone else's you know what so they can stand around all day. And are they pissy, life is sooooo HARD for them (cough gag).

An older and very popular instructor warned us before we got on the field about how the instructors are. He said that he is so sickened by what goes on that he offered to buy the school from the owner. The owner agreed on one stipulation that his payment include his '72 'Cuda and his '69 Pontiac GTO (of which only 19 were made of the style that he has, but that is another story). He (the instructor) couldn't do that, would you?

Regardless, I feel that what the field instructors do is a reflection of the upper administration and ownership. I know it is not always easy to find good help and keep positions filled but I don't think that is really an excuse. Plus I also feel that for seven grand per student they could afford to pay their quality instructors better. Non of them are there for the money as a lot are retired or have other jobs.

Regards,
jyhm

P.S.
Anyone reading this post please do not let it effect your decision if you are thinking about going to NETTTS. Regardless of what I have written (no one or no thing) can stop you from learning properly and getting your CDL, as they will not stop me!

i test in a week and a half. luckily we use the truck that weve driven for the last 5 weeks to take the test, thats kind of bull.... that they would stick you in a truck youve never driven on the day of your test.
hell we have a backup truck (just in case) to drive thats exactly the same except the circumference of the steering wheel.

we do nothing but excercises to get us a passing grade on the test up to test day, then we go another 2 weeks of "finessing" they call it. we havent backed up to a dock, not backed between actual objects, thats all after the test. hell never had the truck above 8th gear. we do a "fun drive" on fridays that has put me on an 8 foot wide road with a gravel shoulder and a NICE ditch thats 13 miles long 3 times so far # 55mph.... our truck is 92 inches wide..... first time you feel the rear trailer tire go off the pavement, youll need new shorts, but it wont happen again.

i dont have a #### clue where im parking mine, but this area's a trucking hot spot, so im sure ill find a place. ive noticed that one of the tmc guys parks where i work on the weekends, might look into that. look for somewhere with a big parking lot and get ahold of whomever owns it i spose?
