| Teach, Im taking my dog shes a boxer..Im goin with CFI leaving this Sunday for orientation. After training is done I will be on my way home to pick her up.. They have a pet policy werner does us xpress but they drive all automatic you dont want that for your first .There are a few others out there but many companies did away with the policy.Make this one of your first questions when talking to a recruiter. I made the mistake of not and I was waiting to be approved for prime 3 weeks go by and she tells me I was approved and I asked her about the policy....she said no only if you were O/O so all in all I should of just asked that first.Expect to pay a deposit but it really is a fee you dont get it back.Good luck |

| I dont have the dog in the truck with me just because I want it to be clean and dont want dog or cat hair in my carpet.Just my 2 cents

| Even the best animals will have an "accident" once in a while. Add into this the hair and fur plugging up the air filters and possibly damage to the carpet or seats (if the dog gets bored and starts chewing the interior) or the mattress and I think you can see why many companies do not want animals on the trucks. Besides I think its pretty cruel to lock an animal up in a truck for 22 to 23 hours per day. Sure you may pull over every few hours to let the dog do his/her business, but is that any kind of life for a dog? Heck its cruel to drivers but at least we have a choice your dog doesn't. Just my 2 cents but I think it would be much better for the animal to stay at home in its own environment where it has room to run and play.

| If I leave her at home there will be no one to feed her or take care of her. And I do not want to find her a new home it has taken me a long time to get her to not be afraid of people she was abused by her last owner.

| It's not abusive at all to tiny dogs like my minpin. She wants to be with me no matter what. We don't drive 24 hours a day, only 13 so the other hours, we're outside with her or asleep. She had a blast and much preferred to be with me than home alone. All dogs do NOT have accidents sometimes if you train them properly. They also do not chew if they are properly entertained. I think some people here have never had a well trained, well behaved dog who doesn't shed lots, chew or have accidents. It all depends on the dog and the owner. Nothing makes a dog happier than being with you - nothing - so unless you have a sheltie or something that needs a TON of exercise it can't get in a truck, it's not cruel in the least. |
