I applied with Werner and US Xpress Im done with my 6 month class to get my CDL in June and sent out pre hires. I had a suspension of my license for 2 weeks back in october of 2005 for a 63 in a 40 (speed trapping ########) and theyre all saying 3 years has to pass. I don't want to sit on my ### all summer, I hate how companies refuse to talk to anyone just because of something that's ALMOST 3 years old. wtf. I'm just going to can this school if I won't be able to get a job.
This is discouraging, is there any hope for me?

It's "almost" three yar old but it's also "23" mph over the speed limit. You're lucky they are talking to you at all, I wouldn't.
If you have to wait 3 years then you have to wait. nothing you can do about it. And those two companies are two of the "horrible 4" as I like to call them. so if they won't take ya it doesn't look good. Try swift, if you can't get on there you must have died 6 months back -
edit: i have a felony for insurance fraud from when i was 18, thought that would be the issue not a speed trap ticket. -
it is likely going to be an issue too. Won't keep you from a job, just a good job.
Like I said talk to the other bad companies. CR England, Swift . If they say no then it isn't going to happen. And then you have to figure out if you really want to work for wift, cr, us ex etc??? -
well i just talked to a swift recruiter so if they say no im quitting all this and becoming a homeless person, #### trying if ill never be given a chance

Don't quit school. You will only have a three month period between graduation and when your three years is up. I am sure you can find something to do until then. Are you working right now? If so just stay at your present job a few months longer. It will all work out eventually. Best of luck to you.

Hey OPI, an update from All State, I took my test tuesday, passed everything, im a cdl holder now , well, actualy i have to wait for my papers to come in the mail and then head off to penndot for my hard copy,
but i got my graduation packet from the school today, and inside was a copy of my MVR, and sadly i have a ticked for doing 89 in a 65..eeeekk!!! not good, Hunt called me today, and i totaly forgot about it, never put it on my application had to tell the women over the phone that its on my MVR and she told me that they wont even look at me at all!!!!! it happend back in 05, she told me that that ticket will hurt me industry wide!, she said im going to have to settle for one of the worse companies for at least a year, such as swift, werner ux.xprs, im not happy, but speaking with a reqruit from Swift he said they would take, i want to work for there Flat Bed division, starting pay is .27cpm. 3 months .31cpm and 6 months .34cpm, with other add pay inbetween, trainning for flatbed is down in S.C, $450/week for the first 4 wks of trainning, then for 2 more weeks its 500/week.
seems ok, but iv read some scracy stories online about Swift, but maybe ill apply, im going to wait and see -
edit: i enrolled in this school thinking this was the industry for second chances and the hope of having a career, looks like its not. im only going to keep trying so long, ive failed things my entire life so this will be the icing on the cake if i spend 10 grand for nothing -
I dont remember if you had a record or not, you don't do you -
In some states, 20mph over is the same as wreckless driving...a very serious offense as far as trucking co's and their insurance co's are concerned.
