What is a DAC report?

My husband and I have been driving for almost 2 years now. I know what the mvr is. We provided one to the company we drive for, however, I keep hearing about the DAC report. What exactly is it? I thought it was the MVR but from reading on this forum I am starting to think it is different. I googled DAC report and a site came up that said I could get my DAC and MVR report for 39.95. So what exactly is the DAC, what is it for, and is there an actual DAC website?
Does everyone have a DAC report? Does my husband and I have one? How do we know if we do or not?

DAC is also called USIS and if you Google them you will find their website. They put on their report about you (if an employer was subscribed to them) things such as, how long you worked at this trucking company, any incidents/accidents, if you are rehireable (is that a word?) according to the employer. I think they can put other things on there also but not really sure, I have only gotten one copy of mine in the past. Dont expect anything positive on there. I have had four jobs in the last 18 years, one of them, J.B. used them. The next two did not, one was small and one was very large. The job I now have I dont know if they checked my DAC or not when I applied but I suspect they did. You can get one free copy a year if you request it in writing and give them some personal info. They are located in Tulsa I think.

right, but what do the letters actually stand for?

Related - does someone's social security number get
involved in this? Are they using them as an indexing system?

A DAC report is now called USIS report. They can put anything on there as a driver for that company. It doesn't have to be a accident/ incident either. You break company policy or sneeze wrong. They can put it on there. Not all companies do this. I included a link from another thread on this forum. Go down halfway and the address/phone number is listed in that thread.

Footz -

DAC stands for "Drive-A-Check", which I assume to be a bastardization of "Driver Check"

USIS seems to be very proud of their toy - and to be completely oblivious to teh fact that a growing number of companies are completely ignoring it because it is not objective.

With a credit report, there are very precise rules involved with adding an entry. That does not seem to be the case with the DAC. From all I can tell, if a company wants to put "Joe Driver is a blue banana" in the DAC, they can.

Hardly the stuff on which you should base your hiring practices.

Ok, so if I am understanding this right a DAC has nothing to do with DOT, the MVR or laws. It is like a credit report but for driving. So companys check your 'driving' report much as creditors check your credit? This is not a government agency? When I looked at the sight it was showing the information reported, social security number for one. This does not seem like it should be legal if this is the case as from what I can see anyone can sign up as a truck owner and check someones DAC for a price. They would then basically be receiving all of your personal information. Why wouldn't that be a violation of privacy?

At The End Of The Day There Is Only 1 Choice. You Must Make A Request By Writing With Info You Must Provide To Them And The Cost Is Only $9.50 For The Complete Deal. Do Not Do The Middle Man. Call 1-800-381-0645 Follow The Promps For Your Dac And They Will Tell You What You Need To Do.(have A Pen Ready) By The Way For Info, Dac Is No Longer, Its Just A Trigger Word Now, It Is Actually "usis" Same Company Same Place. You Can Do Alot Of Looking And Connecting But When Your Done Above Is What Your Gona Have To Do As They Accept No Other Way Except The Middle Man Approach Which Is What They Will Do And Charge You $20 More To Do It And Not As Fast.takes Max About 2 Weeks
