Smiley 5 quick question about driver history

hey everyone,

I have a quick question about my driving history I was called for an interview with a local flatbed job which is great. My question is How far do companies check on your driving record usually? I have 2 tickets 1 for careless driving which is 3 years old as of Jan. 6 2009 before i got my CDL and I had points taken off so as it stands it's AD-JUNCTION WITHHELD
&
1 speeding ticket for going 9 over from a lil over a year ago maybe even 2 again AD-JUNCTION WITHHELD before I got my cdl. I'm not sure on the date of this one because I looked on the county clerk of courts website under public records and it didnt pop up which was weird. So I'm going to call them this morning and see whats going on and if I can get an exact date.

If you guys & girls could help me out with this it would be great. This is my first trucking interview and I'm what u would call nervous so any advise would really help. I'm going in for the interview at 11 today thanx in advance

I think it depends on your state's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). I believe my state goes back 3. You can get a copy of your own MVR. In my state you get it through the Highway Patrol and it costs $5.

Just Google your state and "MVR". Your state may even indicate how far back the record will show.

Some go back as far as 10 years now.

If you filled out an application and they called you for an interview I'm guessing that they pulled your mvr before they even called you. Most companies do since they would not want to waist time with someone who has had several accidents, tickets, dui and things of that nature. You might be fine.

thanx guys i went in for the interview and had to fill out the app there. I told them about the one speeding ticket and they seemed fine with that considering it was just shy of 2 years ago and no points were put on. I also told them about my very limited flatbed experience if u wanna call it that (single axle dump with a tag trailer hauling equipment) and they said i pretty much have the job I should know for sure by tonight or Monday due to the holiday. They seemed very impressed with my want to work and i think that's what picked me out of the crowd. The money is decent for a rookie 12.00 an hour with 40 hours a week and time and a half after 40, And also like i said its local technically (central Florida and below) they went down to west palm beach today that's a 5 hour ride from where the shop is maybe one night out a week so we'll see how it goes wish me luck
