do Truckers have to transport bad magazines?

I have a good friend who is a devout Muslim, stops and does his prayers 5x per day without fail, follows the faith as much as reasonably possible when on the road, doesn't do drugs, drink alcohol, etc., abhors violence and has made more than a few suggestions about Muslims who engage in terrorism and what should happen to them. He owns his own truck (actually owns two of them), 70% of his loads are pork out of Seaboard Farms, Guymon, Ok., 20% are wine and other spirits from PNW area. As he put it, as long as I don't have to touch the animals or the product on either side, he don't care. He makes #### good money doing it. The only reason he won't haul something is if it's illegal, unsafe, overwieght, or if the shipper is a prick towards him about loading it.

 

I had a load one time, the bill of lading said "unattended baggage". It was picked up at a non descript warehouse. The freight consisted of very large wooden crates, big enough to put bodies in. It had 4 or 5 stops, including:

Estes, an LTL freight company
A small moving/storage company affiliated with one of the major van lines
A non descript warehouse with signs warning that it was a military warehouse blah blah. At this particular location, the workers were mexicans who knew the following english terms: truck, delivery, bill. One of the workers was painting markings off a crate exactly like what i was hauling, for reuse. I assume it was empty but it was taller than I am.

And other non noteworthy nondescript warehouses.


I suspect some of the crates may have contained parts of dismantled flying saucers.

Nice to hear about a Muslim who sounds very smart. And before anyone says it, I am not a racist. But a lot of Muslims have a very hated view of this country... just go to Dearborn, Michigan and you'll see it firsthand.

this is similar to the case where the religious pharmacist didn't want to dispense birth control pills. there was a time when companies might've accommodated this to a reasonable extent. but the way things are now, they're simply not going to have that luxury. example - you're in bum fudge egypt.....the only load available near there to route you back home is a load of jizz soaked porn being delivered to a hog farm as feed. what are you going to do? refuse the load? you can turn down work if you want to, but going to work for someone and then refusing to do the job = grounds for dismissal. most trucking these days are just not going to give any weight to silly superstitious, irrational religious mumbo jumbo as a valid excuse to turn down a load. as I said, these days, companies don't have the luxury of cherry picking freight or having a troublesome employee who needs constant accommodations.

 

Hmm, Wonders if a load of phone books is bad material, i hauled one of those, oh and a load of beer from coors in golden colorado back to idaho.
