Angry Werner's logs

Werner's paperless log system is a bunch of BS. I'm currently serving a 72 hr. suspension because the satellites 'lost me' for several hours. As a result, it took me 4.5 hours to drive 67 miles. What a joke!! I'm a newbie and I'm looking for a new job. I'd avoid them if you can.

My question to you is...Are you in a motel, at home...or protecting their equipment ?

Suspension is just that...take a bus home for the next 3 days. They asked you to park it...#### it let them babysit it. It's not abandoned, if they refuse to allow you to move it.

Hmmmmm

He said that the qualcom lost him for a few hours and only drove 67 miles. Not sure if we are getting the whole story here. Were you parked the majority of that time? What duty status were you on and when was the last mac 8 you sent in?

Logs are the biggest danger to a truckers safety in the history of trucking in my opinion.

To force everyone to drive by a set standard no matter the weather , road conditions, or the drivers fitness to drive truly places a driver in more peril then a system that rewarded drivers who have shown the ability to be safe and take breaks when needed without being treated like a baby.

I see a limit on hours as a needed regulation but not on when you drive those hours. I have had several instances where I faced retribution from a company if I did not run a load despite telling them I was not ready to roll or the condition where unsafe to roll. At USX and IDC. Both company's prone to no preplanned and last minute dispatches before Dispatcher goes home after you were up all day waiting. The forced dispatch system meant if you had hours you were ready, period. A call to safety or a lecture in the hours of service rules which state that a driver needs not only to have hours but be ready and fit to drive, would get you retribution by being assigned crappy loads or enduring increased layover.

When Werner went to paperless logs USX was also considering the same change but decided against it because it is clear that forcing legal driving would not be conducive to profitably by a carrier that did lots of expedited freight.

For people considering Werner as anything other then as a trainee needing training. Not advised unless you like making less money driving on paperless logs.

I've always felt a per day miles limit would be a lot better then the current HOS
