| For any new drivers or seasoned drivers, stay away from Werner. My Husband & I thought we would try them out, seeing that it was on home turf, boy oh boy what a mistake. This goes back to 2001, I know things haven't changed since then, probably worse. At the time of hire, I had 5 years experience & hubby 40 years. We were treated like new drivers with no experience. They gave us a 62 mph truck and expected us to drive it like it went 80. Within one week the fight was on, we were told we didn't have time to stop at a rest area, we had to keep the truck moving. They would give us loads that had plenty of time, but when we kept moving, they kept bumping up the delivery time, so half the time we didn't even have time to eat, shower, rest, nothing, just keep that truck moving. We were constantly running out of hours. After a month, we asked to take about 6 hours off in Oklahoma City, to attend a wedding, and then hit the road, they said no problem, until shift change that is, and then they told us that truck needed to move, needless to say, I asked them where they wanted their truck, Omaha or Oklahoma City, and they said they didn't understand what I meant, I said "What Part of I Quit Don't You Understand" and they told me I was being rude. We stuck it out for 7 months, but at the end of that we had a problem with out pickup truck in Omaha, it was stolen. When found it was badly damaged, our insurance company needed us to get some papers signed to get it repaired. What we needed was a couple of hours at home, to get this done, not days, hours. Well we spent the next four weeks everywhere but no where near home. The last load we took was to go right through Omaha out of Minneapolis, but when we picked it up, it was going to Seattle, so again not heading for home. We called, told them we definitely quit, they needed to get this load repowered, we're heading for home, finally got it done at Sioux Falls, SD. When we got back to Omaha, the night dispatch wanted to know why we were there, I guess no one ever tells anyone else what's going on, we quit, and the night dispatch said we couldn't. Believe that!!!! We gave back all the equipment they issued us and got a signature, then they told us they never got it and we were charged for it. We never got our pet deposit back, they said the truck was dirty, oh well. I want to say to new drivers thinking of Werner, in that seven months, we did see alot of solo drivers sitting. That's not a good thing. We were once dispatched on a trip, pickup was about 200 miles south of Dallas, we got there, and then they turned us around back to Dallas to pickup and deliver a load that went 10 miles, because it needed a team truck, when they could have sent out a solo truck with it curtains closed. It didn't make any sense. We also spent a day in Sacramento and area, trying to find an empty trailer, put on about 500 miles searching, ended up back where we started to get a trailer, that sure made alot of sense, we did get paid the miles though. If you are wanting to make some money as a solo driver, WERNER IS NOT THE COMPANY FOR YOU. I could go on and on, but I think I have said enough. Make your own choices. Werner is not happy unless you are looking out the Freightliner Windshield!!! |

| What do you mean they told you that you can't stop at a rest area to relieve yourself? And your hubby having 40 years experiance tolerated that kind of bull? If any company or dispatcher told me that I'd first tell him to go to hell, I'd stop anyways(and purposfully take my time) then I'd turn the truck in when I got back to the terminal.

| I find it amazing that anyone with any experience (or any sense for that matter) would even consider working for a driver mill such as Werner. |
