After running for an outfit that would require you to run illegl, keeping multiple setts of books and then not get you home more often than every 45 days or so, I began to look around for a company with a higher standard of integrity. After much research I came to apply with Schneider for several reasons, 1. electronic logs... don't know much about them except that for the company to make money the dispatchers must stay on top of things because they cannot put you in a position of needing to run illegal to make an on time delivery. In other words, when you get a load dispatch there is ample time to make a safe and legal run. 2. The run I am going to be on is regional and will provide regular home time (makes for a happy Wife which = a happy life:). 3. The maintenance program for the fleet is second to none, they are rate #1 with CSA. 4. They pay more per mile....

Keep checking back as I update life on the road "Runnin With The Big Pumpkin"

I was with them for 1 1/2 years, and still would be if things were different. They do treat you decently, at least they did me. They tried everything possible to keep me, but it just wasn't going to work, for me.
I've been accused of being a "cheerleader" for them in the past, but my experience was mostly good.
There are days when it seems like no one has their act together, they do make mistakes, the trucks are/were slow, and there are much nicer ones out there. Yep, I sat, very minimally, I would blame your DBL if that happens, and yes, you can get on another board. I guess I was lucky, the three I had were very good, and one of them was a kid that had just started. The key to him was, he listened, and had his act together enough to ask for help if he needed it.
You could do worse, MUCH worse. 90% is your own attitude.:biggrin_25525:

    Well...
it has been 2 weeks since I started with orientation and am pleased so far...
Orientation was a bit longer than normal do to the size of group that week, 7 drivers and there is normally 3-4 so it slowed things down a bit.

    Day 6..
leave out with my first load today, a load of salt pellets headed for a Wal Mart DC in So Cal. as for the load itself all was good, but for the on board computer system that is another story altogether, to say the least I spent as much time confused about how to use it as I did driving :)
Then I re-powered a load to Vegas and took my third load back home to Salt Lake, once in Salt Lake I needed a few items taken care of with my truck and they gave another truck, all is good :) .....

well seeing the date on this posting i guess there is no current news...however I myself am running with the Pumpkin Co...I am an 8 yr road veteran who was with Werner in the "good ole days" (when CL ran with the boys and before the POS Greg "I am a spoiled little brat" took over)...that was back in the days when loyalty and dedication USED to mean something...

Now that I am running with the Big Orange, I am getting constant calls from JB Hunt to come over...the only thing of it is through research on here I can find nothing current on JB Hunt from drivers who have been there more than a year...

So here's my request anyone who currently runs for them as an O/O who bought their truck through them and has had good runs in SE region...let me know

The electronic logs are a bit intimidating at first. It gets better, I can promise that. Use the help feature if you need to. The three most important macros are your 18, pick up arrive and depart, and delivery arrive and depart. The others are important as well, but those three control your money, so learn those well.
