SNI CHOICE PROGRAM - Jar Head takes his Truck -" Betsy " ( Not a Lease Truck )

I have saw lots of information on the forum about folks who have bought trucks through Schneider Finance (SNF) which I think offers a great option to drivers wanting to get their feet wet in the Owner Operator game and take the leap to becoming and IC on the Choice program , with little capital risk upfront and low to no down payments and minimal out of pocket.

WHAT I HAVE NOT SAW MUCH OF IS : The Owner Operator that brought his own truck to SNI CHOICE, so I wanted to give my experiences as it pertains to that segment of the program. BRINGING YOUR OWN TRUCK ... into the program .

I just took my truck " BETSY " (thats what I call her) to SNI - to join the Choice Program that SNI offers.

I am going to keep this thread updated as to my journey with the company and hopefully give a slightly different perspective of the LEASE vs OWNERSHIP and the differences and the two. Now with that said I still think that SNF offers a very competitive deal on their LEASE units and have heard great stories and success right here on this board with DFO, Ten Man , Dip , Chicken Wing , ( and many others ) . I know that there has to be drivers out their with their own trucks such as my self that want to see how this works from the BRING YOUR OWN TRUCK SIDE OF THE PROGRAM.

This thread will focus on that aspect and hopefully provide helpful information to drivers looking to take the leap to SNI CHOICE but on the fence about making the jump to the program and bringing their unit aboard SCHNEIDER.

My posts will start with Orientation to picking my first load out of class and expand from there on.

On a side note before I begin my Journey .

Schneider is is opening the IC Choice to Teams also . Teams will have their own board where they see only Team Freight . And our Board will only show Solo Freight .

Other offerings coming soon are :

1. Company Driver Choice ( in the next year ) don't have much details on it but was mentioned to us in class . One driver said he heard it would be a percentage based deal but I don't know much about it .

2. Bulk / Tanker IC Choice ( in the next 6-9 months )

 

I think the company choice will probably be reserved for experienced drivers only that don't want to be IC's and basically know the customer base etc . But like I said we were told it could be a year or so but in the works .

The TEAM IC Choice is open now or very soon I think ..
