I've been reading all the negative reviews on link america and figured I will make a proper rebuttal. So many complaints about equipment and pay blah blah blah. It boils down to this.

Equipment - Stop expecting a Rolls Royce . This is a regional carrier, not a OTR carrier. Most of our trucks are permitted for there regions only (SE, Switch and Texas) the few teams are permitted for 48 along with some dedicated tractors. The shops never refuse to fix equipment as some say, the comments about picking up trailers that are broken are fault of lazy drivers, not the company. If a driver refuses to run a bad trailer and dropping it off at a customer, don't blame the management, blame the driver. They recently started a system of cracking down on those drivers. If you pick up a defective trailer, your DM tracks down the previous driver and goes from there. Most of our tractors range from 2007-2009, a few 2006 floating around and our 2012 rolling off the line. They believe in getting most out of there equipment and don't have the mega carrier overhead to buy shiny new trucks every few years.

Pay - yes it is a lil on the low side (30-33 cpm) but again, this is a regional carrier. Most drivers that live along i-95 and i-75 see the house a couple times a week. One of the perks you lose going regional as opposed to OTR is pay. OTR drivers are paid better. I've also read drivers saying they didn't get paid there first 2 weeks at linkAmerica so they quit. Well, simply because they hold 2 weeks. Listen to the nice girl in orientation and you would know that. I've never once had a issue with any pay. The payroll dep't also makes it clear that improper trip envelopes (not filled out properly or unsigned BOLs ) will delay your pay. So driver error is mostly the cause once again. Stop jumping the gun and accusing them of ripping you off. If you mis printed a trip sheet or turned in a unsigned BOL, how are they suppose to verify that load?

Miles- im off weekends. I get off usually around Saturday afternoon and back Monday morning. So during my 5 days I see around 2000-2400, pretty #### nice for 5 days work. I see alot of complaining about drivers sitting. That's mostly due to lazy drivers. I've been deadheaded 400+ and 600 +miles to pickup loads. This company is all about moving freight and don't care how far you have to go to get it. Your being paid for it, so why complain?

Safety concerns - this company does not force you to run illegal. We run peoplenet electronic logs. I read a post where a lady said this was forced upon us by DOT or be shutdown. Completely untrue, this was put into effect by the investment company that recently bought out link america. EOBRs are going to be required, most company's are getting a head start. I seen a driver say that link doesn't allow 8/2 splits. Completely untrue again. I do them all week. Also the part of being on duty 30 mins before going off or sleeper.. not true. if you go off duty during your 14, it has to be atleast 30 Mins minimum.

Seen a driver complaining about no showers or laundry. Lakeland has a shower in the shop, and laundry facility is less then 2 miles away. You can either bobtail or take the company car (same as fort worth) . People complain about their orientation expenses being deducted for not completing the 180 day window. Well, why not? This company is investing money in drivers that dont want to work. I see people complaing that their truck brokedown and we're stuck. Bunch of BS . When my truck was brokedown this past week, my DM put me in another truck to deliver the load and deadheaded me back 200+ miles PAID to get my truck back. You sit because your lazy, you want everything catered to you. Just because things are not up to par on your red carpet treatment requirements, don't bad mouth someone for it. Go on about your business. There's a different cup of tea for everyone.

Regional drivers should make more per mile than otr from having to bump the dock every day and from putting up with all the BUULLLSHINOLA that goes with it. JBS regional makes .46cpm and IMO that's not enough, should be .52+

    A small side note.

My truck was having issues yesterday morning and within 10 minutes of bringing it up to my DM she had a load coming right back to the yard so I could get serviced ( drop and hook at pickup to!). Soon as I got there she gave me the keys to 2 trucks. Said to check them out and choose which one I want. Said I could either borrow it while my truck is serviced or just keep it. I elected to keep it.

Basically, if you show a work ethic, then management will go above and behind for you. I've had times where the shop has given me a hard time about servicing my truck and have physically seen my DM walk out of the office and across the street to the shop and yell at the shop foreman.

Strong work ethic will get you real results.
