Thank you all for your support in this matter, I contacted the FTC and the Georgia consumer health depatment, they said they were sending someone out there today. After speaking to several Individuals they said I should just let you know the exact location. The Location is 4855 Maysville Road in Commerce, Georgia. Very nice facility with the best showers. But, keep in mind that when purchasing dry food's or dairy products from them to check for expiration dates as after the health department visits them today, hopefully the problem will not occur again.
but after the first visit it did and through two eco-sure visits it did.
Eco sure has always given this plaza a low score 30-40 percent? I
remember it being low. Also, if you dont mind being patient with your cashiers there they are doing a good job by you it is the upper management who does not schedule enough persons to handle the volumes of people. DO NOT BUY BREAD FROM THIS FACILTY THOUGH,
THE MERCHANDISER OPENS UP LOAVES AND DISCARD'S PIECES AND SEALS THEM UP AGAIN. There is also a rodent problem at times, as in products upstairs when i helped merchadiser move things, there was
rodent excrement visible and items opened by some means. bread on
the shelf has been found torn opened and bit into, so inspect the things
you purchase and if fueling with a card, do not use pump 25 as the keypad is not able to enter in certain digits and upon several request it was not fixed. The Facilty Manager said the key pad cost 200.00!! dollars
apparently, that is a huge amount to spend for Truckers conveniece and avoidance of long lines. I beleive its time I look for a lawyer and begin the process of handling the problems that i have endured due to poor Management. I hope today that the Health Department has put this location on the right track. I will be back regarding the outcome of the matters and if by any means you visit this store and recieve expired items,
I have a few number's for you to contact.

I've read labels that say;

Best When Sold By : and a date.

And I've seen';

Do Not Sell After: and a date.

I've purchased many snack items past their Best By date --- didn't notice too much difference in the taste. I do notice I'm still alive though.

If deli sandwiched were made before midnight, they'd only be 24 hours old, with a date reflecting the day before causing question as to whether it was older.

I found a 1 1/2 year old bag of pretzels in my bunk once. With a soda, they tasted pretty good as I strolled down the highway. I got the soda free at a Flying J.
Ever notice how "free" seems to taste better?

Science Diet Treats for my Road Dog

I feed my dog science diet treats that expired years ago. She loves them. I eat one every once in a while to see if they are still good. Um. Yep. Still good. They still taste like tasteless cardboard.

We got 30 some cases of these for free from Hills when she was a puppy 10 years ago. They haven't killed her yet. She still crawls on top of me every night and gets more covers than I do. She has such a rough life.

I might be inclined to find an employment attorney & put in a call just to see where you stand.

This is something that could be construed to be a hiway safety issue & fall into OSHA's hands as well as Food & Drug & the health depts.

I could say this is a highway safety issue because whoever eats that expired & possibly tainted food might very possibly also be driving a 80000lbs rig when he/she gets suddenly, violently ill.

What's going to happen to that 80000lbs of truck & trailer?

I might have to if they deny my unemployment. I've been looking for jobs there either "in need of experience of 2 years and college degree" or pay $7.50 hourly, i was making 10.25 hourly and barely 20,000 a year with Flying J's. I cant see working at 7.50 again, 20,000 dollars last year was the most I made, I couldnt see risking it if there wasnt issues with the GM,MERCHANDISER AND ACCOUNTANT. Bigredinternational, After shock, im glad to hear you and or your animals havent suffered from any effects of best by or expired products, at the Commerce location though there was more of an issue with materials being opened and molded items being presented for sale. the milk being the worst thing of expired items. we did sell butter milk for awhile, they took it out because it didnt sell well and then let our regular milk turn to butter milk. I know some things expired or best by certain dates digested might not cause you harm but in Georgia it is a law for these items to not be presented atleast the Health Department associate with Georgia's District said it was a Law.
Im wandering how Commerce faired after there inspection? does anyone know if these reports are public?

anyway's on the job hunt! way things are looking though, could be a minute. not to good to work for $7.50 hourly, just trying to keep close to what i worked hard for, but, sometimes everything is smashed like a mirror.

thanks again guys for your support and interest, I didnt know how many drivers didnt like flying j's to a degree until reading the flying j's thread. wish i had knew about it while employeed there, maybe, atleast I couldve been in the discussion and helped our plaza be more presentable to those who had problems at other flying j's. anyway, The Commerce Flying J's will get better with this problem of expired items, I've taken it to the lengths at each end even my own end! so good luck to them, and good trucking to you,

Ron

Freedom of Information Act

Most things government does are public info if your state has a freedom of information law. Best deal would be to contact a local TV station or a local news paper and get them interested in your story. In Kansas our FOI law is known as the Sunshine Act. Just give the health dpartment a call and ask for followup info. They have no reason to not tell you what is going on. If cited, the Flying J will likely have access to an administrative hearing and that should be public access too.

I don't think Flying J is perfect but I'd quit trucking if all the Flying Js closed down. They give me free colas and free showers and the only truck stop I have ever showered at besides a Flying J was so bad I vowed to never again use a shower anywhere but Flying J. If I can't stay over night at a Flying J I will stop at one I'm passing the next day to shower.

In the land of the free...

In the land of the free, you have to be a responsible shopper. Don't rely on the store to provide you with products that are fresh or haven't expired. Make sure your products are good by checking the dates yourself. Companies that make the goods must put those dates on the packages. They put those dates on there for you to read so you can make an informed choice. Well, for this reason and because the government requires the dates be put on those products. Don't buy products that can be closed, opened, and closed again. Buy only products with safety seals. Remember the Tylenol murders in the early 80s?

I don't understand it....

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

Isn't whistleblower termination illegal? I think you're entitled to litigation. Maybe you should also tell the FDA or some health inspectors.
Absolutely. All Truck stops have the attitude of "we have a captive audience" we'll do what we want...

There are very few reasons in this world, but many excuses.
