You guessed it ... Craisins...![]()
They were very nice to me when I showed up some 18 hours early asking if they would like to get rid of that load just a tad early... No problem and was loaded and gone in like an hour. Nice place to pick up at if anyone is sent here.

as a born ready to die Masshole all my first 50 years
I thought all cranberries came from Cape Cod

So the fun continues... started my trek to Vegas and went from Aberdeen, WA to Eugene, OR and then caught highway 58 towards Reno, NV... That Hwy 58 was a beautiful drive but as I went from 1,000 feet elivation to 5,000 it began to snow... Signs up requiring "carry chains", etc... Not a very busy road and I began to doubt if I took the right option the higher I went.
But all was better in the down hill side and once I hit Hwy 97 and a pilot about 8 miles down the road, I topped off the tanks, checked the weather ahead of me, noticed it was getting darker... And opted to park it and call another, shorter, day over.
Still have two driving days to get to Vegas... Was thinking I might arrive a whole day ahead but thinking I might spill over a bit and use two easy days and reflect back on lessons learned during this week's trip to the Northwest.

The load to Portland was a bit tight for this newbie but this one had what seemed to be a whole day built in and with grabbing the load uber early it's giving me a bit of breathing room.
This has been a great trip so far... A bit intense at times but over all an awesome learning experience. Winter driving in general never bothered me but that was never on 18 Wheels with 80k under/behind me... Whew!
My load today is all of 80k and the Steers and Drives are at their max, so it felt a bit different than the 10k coming out here... Or maybe just knowing helped too... LOLJohnBoy and White_Knuckle_Newbie Thank this. -
But, this trip also showed me the value of a CB in the truck.... It has been on my "some time soon" list to buy after we recover from Christmas but this trip has bumped it up to the top of the list and since I have a few extra hours of free time tonight... I might go grab one from this Pilot and play around with it sooner than later.
JohnBoy and White_Knuckle_Newbie Thank this. -
Got loaded Monday night. Dropped it in the yard Tuesday evening, hooked a loaded trailer going to university park Illinois. Just got empty here. Need to take my 10. Let's see if I get headed back to Richmond and all the snow.
