I think @mountaingote is on to the right trailer, a full class 8 with a lift axle might be a good way to go, that way the truck is versatile. Picking the right drivetain in the truck is key, their are guys with way more experience then me in that area. @spyder7723 is one of them. The wrong truck can kill a business quick.
BIGZILLA Thanks this. -
It's scary dropping 70 or 80k cash on a used class 8 and trailer, especially when it's your first, I've been looking at older low mileage 379s and 900's and a couple of Western Stars with cat 3406, C15, or Detroit 60 with 475-600hp because I'm slightly familiar with these engines, but I'm completely clueless about the trannies. Am I still on the right path?Last edited: Oct 20, 2015

Closest I get to full drive by wire is a 3406E.
As far as transmissions, with what you're doing, even an 8LL would work. Really can't go wrong. Of course rear ratio will play into it.
Post some specs, or links. -
I PMed some links. If I find gold I don't want to post a treasure map. LOL

8LL is 8+low+low right? It's got the granny low? air right?
