another one bites the dust, Savoy, NM travel center

darn it looks like I will just be going into demming truck terminal when out that way,,I remember the old savoy truck stop and now the new one is gone I am getting really tired of the big chain travel blahazza's same menue in pa as in ca as in wa etc,,,,,

 

Savoy travel center, drove by it two days ago, the name change has yet to happen,

Kids look at it this way, Pilot could of bought it and destroyed it as soon as the ink was dry on the contract.
At least TA will most likely keep the sit down resturant. As to where pilot would of raised the lease and more or less force the place to clsoe, , just so they could bring in fast food.

 

Seems there are issues getting permits for new locations. So, they buy existing and sometimes they tear it down and rebuild it.

 

There is one that they got built close to my home.

The town was all for it. Even changed the alcohol sales laws.

They were expecting the sales tax revenue from the truck stop to be substantial.

Open their eyes when they found that they were selling bio diesel and no sales tax revenue on the truck stop except for auto gas.

They have had many ems calls. We get paged as well.

There have been hazmat incidents. We get to go too.

Another decided to try and go across the street.

Not on your life they replied.

 

they might be planing on getting rid of all the small places and then go to war on each other. Who has more money Pilot or Ta/Petro? I hope Ta Petro would win but i think pilot has much more money than them

 

Pilot has oil tycoon type money.

Hey-Savoy ran into cash flow problems,was taken over by the investment group that was owed a bunch of money then sold to TA/Petro.I think it's going to be a Petro 2.Next time through there i'll ask more.No more free steak dinners with 150 gallons.Take care.Brian
