| Depends on the person. My ex and my son are never really awake and "with it" until it's at least 10:00 p.m. There's less traffic and fewer maniacs on the road. I think night driving is great FOR THOSE WHO FUNCTION WELL IN THE DARK. I'm not one of them so I could never drive nights. |

| I love the way this law firm twisted this story. What a bunch of horse hockey. Of course, the motoring public that knows nothing about trucking will swallow this line of bull, hook, line, and sinker. What I want to know is where this 88 hour week crap comes from. If you run 11.5 hrs (drive 11, .5 for pretrip and fuel only..not counting time for loading/unloading, etc.) on your log everyday, you'll have to reset your 70 by the end of your 6th day. After your 34 off, which will bring you to the beginning of an 8th day on the calendar, if you have 11.5 hrs again, that would put you at 80.5 total hours worked in 8 days. Granted, my example left out getting loaded/unloaded and any drop/hook, etc. If you add any more time you'll just have to reset sooner, and still wouldn't come up with the 88 hrs in 8 days. And how many of us actually run EVERY hour we can run EVERY day.

It's too bad that we all (myself included) can't remember our own short comings at the exact moment a fellow man or woman is having one of their own. Real men drive whatever will pay the bills, but will always wish they still drove Petes! |

| I don't know why this guy/gal didn't come right out and say truck drivers can drive 164 hours in 7 days, since that's how many hours there are in 7 days. Usual BS deceptive advertising. I wish he/she would spend a week with me, then decide what time of the day was THE safest to be on the road. Night IMO

| I actually find myself more alert when driving in the dark. I just got done doing a catering job that had me driving a full sized van 30 minutes north of where I lived at either 3:45 AM or 8:00 PM so it was pitch black. I would have to watch for deer and what not and once I came within 10 feet of hitting a deer. Don't know how but I got the car from 65 to 0 in that 10 feet. I think I would be a better night driver. |

| Uncle Bob and I drove from here to Denver in 15 3/4 hours... the vast majority of our driving was at night. Neither one of us was ready to go down until long after the sun came up! I can run all night long, but come morning, I want to sleep, and that is how I have been for YEARS!
