I-95 Reopens After Crash Involving Pedestrian

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. -- A man is dead after being hit by a big rig along Interstate 95 in Volusia County on Wednesday.
The crash happened just after midnight in the Ormond Beach area.

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the big rig somehow collided with a pedestrian along the side of the highway. The victim died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the big rig was shaken, but will be OK.

Authorities are still trying to contact the victim's family, so his identity was not released.

I-95 was closed for several hours after the crash as an investigation was completed. Troopers detoured traffic to U.S. Highway 1.
