Trucker misses moose, strikes another in Iron County Trucker misses moose, strikes another in Iron County 4/18/08 Quote: HEMATITE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A truck driver is assessing the damage to his semitrailer trailer after slowing down to avoid a moose only to strike another one on the other side of the Upper Peninsula road. State police from the L'Anse post say Jerrold Micolichek was traveling north on U.S. 41 in Iron County's Hematite Township early Friday when he saw a moose on the right shoulder. A second moose came from the left shoulder as he maneuvered to miss the first one. Micolichek wasn't hurt, but his rig sustained major damage. The moose was killed.
