simplyred1962 Betty Boop, One Bodacious Babe!!!

This is truly a tragic story.
What gawd-awful company would employ a meth-head?
And another family was destroyed because both the meth-head driver, and his employer, were negligent.
Too bad the companies CEO couldn't be charged, as well....
-
The company that employed this guy is probably so small they don't even have a CEO. There's tons of small companies out there that only drug test when DOT requires (typically pre-hire). There are even companies out there that still run renegade style and turn their heads when drivers make impossible runs with impossible appointment times. Should these companies be allowed to maintain their operating authourity? Absolutely not. However, this still all comes back to the driver.
I work for a small company and have been asked to run illegally (HOS and illegal axle weight), but I know that at the end of the day it's all gonna come back on me. Therefore, I won't do anything to jeopardize my career.

The offending driver didn't get a stiff enough sentence.
Wiseguywireless and luvmyhubby Thank this. -
4 Years for a life how is that fair. My girlfriends sister was murdered like 20 years ago and the guy did 11 years how is that fair
-
Unfortunately there are many bleeding hearts out there that think this driver (meth user) is a victim, and that's more than likely what the lenient sentence was for........because they can't help themselves. I don't agree with this reasoning but then what do I know? -
We have a few here that would consider him a victim. One of the problems I have with the whole meth thing (drugs, in general, but meth, especially) is that it is no secret that that stuff will MESS YOU UP the very first time. Yet, these idiots continue to try it.
So, you get an idiot that tries it, gets hooked, drives and kills someone and jacka$$ bleeding heart libs would consider him a victim.
Amazing, isn't it?
Want to stop the meth trade? Start killing the cooks. Get caught cooking meth? You die. Right there. Distributing? Same thing. One behind the ear and toss you in a dumpster.
Oh, I know, I'm mean and heartless, but my compassion is reserved for those that are worthy and these slugs aren't.
If I were to lose my famly to one of these POSs, it'd be my turn.
Sorry for the rant, but this stuff just chaps my hide. -
He would have gotten more time, had they caught him with Meth on him.
First offense, 8-10 here. -
I know how you feel. I feel the same way about alcohol abuse too.
-
I'll get some arguement over this, from our "legal" members.
But the truth of the matter is. The cooks are out in less than a year, regardless of the size of the lab. So long as they don't get caught selling.
Federal Sentencing guidelines.
The dealers...can get up to life in prison. Many of which (roughly 75%) are users selling to other users, selling to support their own habit.
Federal Sentencing guidelines are attempting to kill the snake, by cutting off the tail. Which I find to be typical political thinking, on every issue.Wiseguywireless and Scarecrow03 Thank this.
