The past few weeks have been too busy. Due to the extra activity, a situation has occurred that I haven't experienced, yet.
I've used all of my 70 hours. Yikes!! Back in the good ol' days, you could gain hours as they fell off the seven day grid at midnight, thus continue working until you hit an eighth day with little, or no, hours to fall off.
Now here is the question I've not seen, or heard, asked.
Can you still let the eighth day fall off at midnight, if the eighth day occurred prior to a 34 hours "off duty" restart? Did I ask that correctly? I think so. Comments, please before I have to redo a week's worth of logs.
Log ??? with a different twist...

Thanks Notarps! -
Thanking you kindly.... -
You are kindly welcome -
Logs........... the 8 day thing and 70 hr thing was the most hated part of log bs for me. All that aside on the matter of 8 days..... if on that system I get back today what I did LAST week on Friday? If combined hours on duty was 12 last week on Friday then I have 12 today?????????????????????????

1. 22nd (Friday) 10.75
2. 23rd 8
3. 24th 7.75
4. 25th 8
5. 26th 13
6. 27th 10.25
7. 28th 10.5
total is 68.25 so you only have 1.75 hours availabe for today (yeah the 29th)
8th day is today: You do the recap every day to make sure you are not going over the 70 hours in 8 days. Therfore every day you are working is your 8th day. Weird I know, but best way to put it @ least I think.
Now that it is past midnight (for real) you have @ least 10.75 hours to work on 6-30 Now lets say you did nothing all day between midnight last night and midnight tonight then you actually will have 1.75 + 10.75 hours= 12.5 hours available for 6-30.
Does that explain it? Would someone make sure I explained that right please. I feel I did!
8. Is today: Lets pretend today isn't over with yet ok all -
So in simple words for a simpleton I get back on the 70 TOMORROW (day 9) what I did LAST week on Friday? (day 1)?

No you pick up the hours from the 1st of the last 7 days and if you still have the hours you did not work out of the available hours on yesterday.
I think I confused ya when i said lets pretend it's yesterday, we only pretended for the recap reason.
So yesterday I had 1.75 hours available and did not use them hours, but @ midnight (this morning) I am ready to rock n roll (can't wait for a 34 hr) I would have 1.75 hrs (the hours I HAD available yesterday, but didn't use them) and the 10.75 (from the 1st of my last 7 days on my recap for yesterday, hoping you have the 8 day recap on your log sheet).
Don't ask me about the front of the log book, not sure about how to do that (ONE DAY I WILL TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN IT .
Did that sound right? Some drivers do it wrong and do take the hours they worked today and subtract it from certain numbers and have always done it wrong and never got caught. I catch some of those drivers and get the pleasure on telling them they are doing it wrong (some are cool most are beligerent thinking I am wrong, when I am right ) -
Lately I have been getting 4 days and then 2 days off so I have been getting restarts, sometimes two in a week. I ran the 70 hour recap last time in May, for when it really counted. I do the recap from a restart, not nearly as much intrigue when you never get below 16 hours left on the 70.
