    Back in Streator IL taking care of Mom

    Drove a 98 C120 Midroof with a 60 Series 58 inch Bunk that could scale 48K in a 53 Foot Reefer with Full Tanks. Made it Nice when the Company normally booked loads at 46K and I would not even bother to scale them.

    Unfortunately, its not my truck and were not aloud to drop the trailer.

    I came home this morning with 45,000 in the reefer and an 09 cascadia.

    With 2/3 tanks, I was at 80,220.

    DD15, 10 spd and an APU as well.

    I got an 07 century pre DSP 06 emissions is and it should do similar for me. Will let you know when i pick it up end of the year month.

    I figure the dryvan should let me get 46-47k easy with no reefer unit and a much lighter trailer fo no insulation

    A glider is a new body and frame, with an older engine,usually remanufactured and a remanufactured transmission(either can be out of a truck that was wrecked). The drives can be new or remanufactured as well. The first glider I saw was a tandem straight truck that had the front axle but bare frame rails sitting at a La Crosse,WI dealership back in the 80s.

    Gliders were used many times to get some use out of a wrecked truck that was almost new or like new, but have been marketed recently to get a non emissions equipped engine into a new truck. It also saves the Federal Excise Tax because it reuses components. Freightliner, Western Star, and Peterbilt offer them now, the other makes did not.

    Cowpie1 is taking delivery on a glider soon, if he hasn't already.
