The idea of being a trainer is too pass on knowledge and bring the next guy up. How can you pass on knowledge when you lack the experience yourself? Do you think it is fair to a newbie who has paid a few grand for school to have to be limited on what he will receive from a trainer? You are not even past the break in point. There is a good chance you wont make it as a driver. Starting out is tough enough on a newbie to begin with. Why up the odds for his failure in the future?

We had a Werner recruiter come by my school last week and he also said that after 6 months a driver can become a trainer and make $70k.

Yeah; we are talking a guy who gets paid if you come on board. Same as a politician who says if you vote for me I will....

I guess it gets down to this guy thinks he is all he is. I just have a real concern about what is going to happen when he finds out he isn't. I could go on and on with stories shared with me from safety and things I have witnessed by a driver with this kind of expirience. There are some good trainers at Werner I have seen them but there are not that many of them. Quite frankly scares the hell out of me when I think about the attitude shown here. Gonna fall and fall hard.

I agree with you Notarps..

Knowledge is power! I believe with experience comes knowledge. I rather love sharing my knowledge in a good way than make money and take advantage of someone. I have never had a problem learning something then passing it on. I've read posts after posts, some negative, some positive. But there are drivers who only care about money. They could care any less about a new driver, whether they learn or not. That's shameful. If only company could monitor this kind of behavior on the road.

Whether I believe the recruiter or not is irrelevant. The fact is that a recruiter came to my class and passed the previously discussed information. If the poster in question is lying I do not know, but the recruiter did validate what he said. Whether it is true or not is up to some debate but I don't think that I warrant being laughed at because I passed on some information that I heard.
