I drive for Reddaway and am interested in hearing from other Reddaway drivers out there. Good or bad, any thoughts or comparisons to other ltl carriers.

YRC's trucks arent governed, or tuned down with the computer. I have a city unit and was pulling almost 15000 pounds like it was nothing. I remember at CWF with 8000 pounds the city units had a rough time. Havent gotten to drive a road unit yet but can only imagine

Im sure Reddaway's trucks are the same due to being same company lol. What kind of tractor are you using for line-haul that only does 45mph??? I remember the year and engines they used at CWF

Yes the YRC trucks are governed. Always have been even before computers.

My trucks an older Volvo, its got some set of balls to it still though even if it is governed so I wouldnt ever guessed it.

@Century when I did line-haul for CWF I usually had an 06 sterling. That thing was POWERFUL, it pulled 45,000 pounds from Carlstadt like it was nothing. The cascadia I drove once and it wasnt that heavy of a pull, and we never got any volvo sleepers

We have the run of the mill out here as we do alot of 600 mile meet and turns and run triples as well. we've got like 4/5 twin screw sterlings. the volvo is a 13sp. but loaded or light they have no power whatsoever

Thats not cool bro. The older trucks seem to have more power, the 01's, 06, 07's seem to have quite a bit of power from what I remember. Some of the senoir guys had those because of that. The 08's and newer dont have the power, they are nice with the 10spd but id rather have the power. i drove one that was 432-6663(we called it the devil tractor) it literally sounded like a jet engine. i was told when it first came NO ONE could touch it, every one wanted it, then newer trucks came and it was passed down... I really do miss that tractor though, first truck i drove in the apprentice class, first truck i drove for line-haul training, and the one i always got afterwards when i did line-haul

I drive a '12 Volvo. It's governed at 61 but pulls the hills pretty well. Not as good as the ol' freightliners but better than the Orange volvos we have. I'm not sure what Yellow/Roadway does but all of ours are set between 60-65.
