Been a awhile since I pulled anything but a tank but I never have come across a "Stockton" trailer. Stoughton trailers though, I pulled a lot.
Most trailers have the same suspension under them anyway.

I think you're referring to Stoughton. Maybe auto correct changed it for you.

Personally Great Dane makes a good trailer, I would have said Utility for a lower price option, but a friend had one new that the doors wouldn't close properly out of the factory.

Opinions vary, Wabash isn't a favorite for vans or refers but some companies buy those.

Great Dane, for either, Utility again for either, Stoughton for vans, Hyundai seems to be good for either. Not pulled many vans in years, and never been hooked to a Stoughton.

And again - knew a guy had a new Hyundai that leaked constantly out of the factory.

I guess build standards are now hit and miss these days?

Utility has to be square over the drives and vertical to close without my tricks, which don't always work, either. And I've helped numerous drivers close trailers over the years.

Some Great Danes have been hard to close, too. The swinging meat trailers have double latches on both doors, 96 inches wide, but heavier than a floor load trailer, too. That extra latch helps get stubborn doors to close in my experience

It's amazed me over the years to learn how many different trailer types/manufacturers are out there.

Last one in memory was a buddy showing me how a walking floor trailer operated. Mind blowing. On the odd occasion at an unruly receiver, I could see that being handy for flatbeds, vans and reefers alike :)

Ok - I have nothing better to do right now. Let's break this down.

Guys I just started pulling a Stockton dry van.

That's great. But it's probably a Stoughton. We will overlook that. Typo. Whatever.

It rides really good with no issues at all.

Again - great! Happy the ride is to your liking.

Please in your opinion, which trailer brand is the best?

Opinions are going to vary here, but there may be LOTS to learn. Good learning segment here.

So - let's move on here. You had an interesting response to a forum member that offered his opinion.

Right now it is the one you can buy

This means that equipment of any kind is rising in price, and is hard to come by. You didn't specify in your post wether you owned the trailer, was looking to buy one, anything really. So you should expect this kind of generic response to a generic question.

"But that is not the question. And if you don't know the question why give an answer. Did I tell you that I am looking to buy a trailer? People like you make truckers look like dummies."

Great. Call the guy a dummy. By the way, I'm a trucker too.

Have a real good look in the mirror the next time you get a chance, and ask yourself - "Am I the problem?"

You're welcome. I don't actually have any experience with Stockton. It's just something I read on the Internet.

Here you go. Best trailer brand?

I have all Wabash vans and reefers and IMO are the best. For the reefer unit Thermo King S-600.

If I couldn’t get Wabash then I’d probably look at Great Dane and then Utility.

    Rideandrepair and Ikamob01 Thank this.
